Hidden Gems in Bronxville, NY: A Chef’s Favorite Local Spots
bronxville, NY
Intersection on Pondfield Road near Garden Avenue and Kraft Avenue
For such a small village, Bronxville quietly holds some of my favorite places in Westchester County.
It’s one of those towns where you can walk a few blocks and stumble into something special — whether it’s a great cup of chai, fresh pasta to take home for dinner, or a place that somehow understands exactly what your feet need after a long day in the kitchen.
Over the years, Bronxville has become one of those places I return to again and again. Not for one particular thing, but for the collection of small, thoughtful businesses that make the whole village feel like a hidden pocket of quality.
Here are a few of my personal favorites.
Fleet Feet Bronxville
If you spend long hours on your feet like I do — or enjoy sports and hiking — you learn quickly that the right shoes are not a luxury. They’re a necessity.
Fleet Feet in Bronxville offers foot analysis that helps match you with the right shoe for how you actually move. They also walk you through trying different shoes so you can feel the difference in real time. And if they don’t carry the exact shoe that works best for you, they will recommend it.
It’s the kind of thoughtful service that makes a big difference when your job involves standing, walking, and working all day.
Bacione Pasta Shop
Fresh pasta is one of life’s simplest pleasures, and Bacione Pasta Shop does it beautifully.
Walking in feels like stepping into a little corner of Italy. Whether you’re picking up pasta for a quick dinner or planning something a little more special, everything feels handmade and intentional.
And if you can’t make fresh pasta yourself, purchasing it from a place like this is the next best thing — because nothing truly replaces fresh pasta.
M&M Lash Studio
Every chef needs a place where they can step out of the kitchen and feel taken care of for a moment. For me, that place is M&M Lash Studio.
I kid you not — some of the best rest I’ve had is the hour it takes to do my lashes.
It’s one of those spots where the service is professional, the environment is calm, the music is soothing, and you walk out feeling a little more put together than when you walked in.
Bronxville Wellness Sanctuary
When my days become long and my weeks start to stretch, my back, my hip, and my shoulders begin to remind me that I’ve been working hard.
That’s when I head to Bronxville Wellness Sanctuary.
I personally go for the deep tissue massage, but they offer many different treatments depending on what your body needs. The atmosphere is peaceful and the care feels thoughtful, which makes it one of my favorite places to reset and recharge.
Slave to the Grind
Everyone has a favorite coffee spot. Mine in Bronxville is Slave to the Grind.
A warm latte can feel like a hug, and small artisanal cafés are my thing, so naturally I fell upon this gem. Their chai is one of my favorites.
It’s also the kind of place that has real neighborhood energy — people talking, laptops open, conversations happening. A place where you can pause for a moment before moving on with your day.
Bronxville Natural
If you enjoy taking care of your body and cooking with quality ingredients, Bronxville Natural is a treasure.
It’s one of those small but incredibly well-stocked natural food stores where you can find everything from pantry staples and vitamins to specialty items you didn’t even know you needed.
Honestly, a lot of things you might think you can only find online can be found here — matcha, turmeric powder, shilajit, sea moss gel, and so much more.
All your wellness needs in one place that isn’t corporate, but family-owned.
Mano a Mano Ltd.
Every village needs a great little gift shop, and in Bronxville that place is Mano a Mano Ltd.
From beautiful purses to hand lotions, candles, jewelry, and scarves, it’s the kind of store where you walk in looking for one thing and end up discovering something you didn’t know you needed.
For me, stepping inside always brings back a bit of nostalgia from my Connie’s days. The concept is completely different — Connie’s had more of a country vibe, while Mano a Mano leans much more toward upscale luxury — but the sentiment is the same.
It’s that quiet reminder that sometimes the best purchases aren’t the ones you need. They’re the ones that simply make you smile.
Whether you’re shopping for someone you love or treating yourself to something special, Mano a Mano is one of those places that makes it feel worthwhile.
And honestly, sometimes we all deserve that.
Two Breakfast Gems
Bronxville also happens to have two classic breakfast spots that never disappoint.
Pondfield Cafe and Bronxville Diner both offer that comforting, classic breakfast experience — good coffee, friendly service, and the kind of menu that reminds you why breakfast diners are still such an important part of local communities.
Nothing too grand — just simple and delicious, which is sometimes exactly what you need without the fuss.
And Then There’s Underhill Crossing
While Bronxville has many wonderful places, the restaurant that keeps bringing me back again and again is Underhill Crossing.
What I love most about this restaurant is actually something very simple: the bread and lentils they bring to the table while you decide what to order.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that alone is enough to make me come back.
There’s something about that moment — warm bread, lentils, quality olive oil, shaved parmesan, and the quiet pause before the meal begins — that sets the tone for the entire experience.
My favorite dish there is the branzino. It’s beautifully prepared, simple, and incredibly satisfying. In many ways it reminds me of an upscale version of Veracruz-style fish — clean flavors, perfectly cooked, and comforting without being heavy.
As a chef, I appreciate food that doesn’t try too hard but executes perfectly.
Underhill Crossing does that well.
And honestly, I sometimes wonder why this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star.
A Village Worth Exploring
Bronxville may be small, but it’s full of places that quietly do things very well.
From fresh pasta and great coffee to thoughtful wellness spots and memorable restaurants, it’s a village that rewards curiosity if you take the time to explore it.
And if you do find yourself there, start with the bread and lentils at Underhill Crossing.
Trust me on that one.
